This firefighter robot looks a lot like Heatwave, the fire-truck Rescue Bot, standing front-facing and ready to go. He wears a rounded fire helmet, and a ladder rises up behind his shoulders. A big curved windshield spans his chest with a vented grille just below. One arm ends in a chunky fist. The other has a wheel on the forearm and a nozzle hand with three small barrels. Wide armored panels cover his legs, with a wheel at the side. The Rescue Bots logo is at the top of the page, and there's no background, so little hands can stay focused on the robot. Bold outlines and big sections suit younger kids well. Fire-engine red on the body, yellow on the helmet and ladder, and light blue on the windshield is a natural fit. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red parts: fill the shoulder pads, the arm and chest areas, and the helmet brow band with bright red, leaving the white outlines and joints clean.
- 2Color the large visor and the chest sections around it with sky blue, adding a few pale aqua streaks for shine and leaving the thin white edges around the glass.
- 3Fill the legs and feet with royal blue, and use steel blue on the lower shin and foot areas to add depth.
- 4Color the light gray joints, thighs and face plate, then add medium gray to the chest grille and ladder. Leave the white waist and small joint gaps unpainted.
- 5Finish with golden yellow on the arm stripe and forearm panel, and charcoal on the tire, hand and foot edges. Optional: add a little brick red shading under the shoulders for extra depth.
