A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start by coloring the wooden floor with pale wood tan, leaving the thin plank lines and the white background unpainted.
2. 2Color the basketball with bright orange, keeping the black seam lines uncolored.
3. 3Fill the water bottle with bright blue and the sneaker parts with brick red and charcoal gray, leaving the laces and the white toe caps and midsoles white.
4. 4Color the sweatband with bright blue and the whistle with light gray, then give the bottle cap and lid a blue gray or slate gray tone.
5. 5Optional: Add a little charcoal gray shading along the sneaker edges and under the bottle lid to add depth.
