Hill With a Cross on Top and Spotted Ground

Hill With a Cross on Top and Spotted Ground coloring page

Coloring guide

A large rounded hill fills most of this page, drawn with long curved lines that sweep down from the top like the ribs of a shell. A small dark cross stands right at the crest of the hill. Behind the hill, a bumpy band of rock or ground is covered in lots of irregular, blobby shapes, each outlined in thick black line. The outer edge of the whole scene is wavy and scalloped. Because the cross is small and solid black, it stands out as the focus. For a Good Friday lesson, try coloring the hill in soft greens and browns and the spotted background in grays and tans, then talk about why the cross sits on a hill. The big open sections are easy for younger kids, and the small blobs give older kids detail work. Print as many copies as you need for a group.
