Hockey Goalie Crouched in Ready Stance, Cage Mask On

A hockey goalie crouches low in a ready stance, knees bent and weight shifted to one side. He wears a helmet with a cage-style face mask, a loose jersey with stripes on the sleeves and shoulders, and thick leg pads with horizontal straps across them. A big blocker pad covers one hand, and a catching glove is held up near the opposite hip. His hockey stick lies diagonally across the page with the blade resting on the ice near the bottom. The skate boot at the lower left is drawn with plenty of detail. The outlines are bold and the pads have large sections, so kids can color them without much trouble. Try picking two team colors for the jersey and pads, then leave the mask and stick in a different shade so each piece of equipment stands out. It's a good page for talking about what protective gear goalies wear and why. This free printable works well for sports units or rainy day activity tables.
