This chubby little bear sits on the ground hugging a big honey pot in both paws, and his smile tells you he's pleased about it. Thick honey drips over the rim and down the striped sides of the pot. Two smiling bees with round wings and curly antennae buzz overhead, each leaving a dotted flight trail. Simple-petaled flowers grow on both sides of the bear, with small grass tufts and more blooms along the bottom. His big round feet have paw pads drawn as toe beans, which are fun to color in. The lines are bold and the shapes large, so preschoolers and early elementary kids should do well with it. Golden yellow and amber suit the honey and bees, and soft pink or purple the flowers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bear's head, body, arms, legs and feet with caramel brown, leaving the cream muzzle and the paw pads peach beige.
- 2Fill the honey pot with honey yellow for the stripes and bands, and color the honey drips and top rim the same way. Use dark brown for the opening inside the pot.
- 3Paint the two bees: sky blue for the wings, honey yellow for the bodies, and dark gold and dark brown for the stripes.
- 4Color the flowers coral pink with golden yellow centers, and fill the leaves and the small grass tufts with leaf green.
- 5Leave the bottom white flowers, the background and the eye shine white. Use peach beige for the inner ears and foot toes.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown along the bear's edges and under the pot for a bit of depth.
