Seen from behind and the side, a futuristic Hot Wheels race car tilts up a steep slope covered in boulders. It has a big rear spoiler, a sleek angular body with panel lines and stripes, round taillight details and large dark wheels gripping the rocks. A puff of dust or smoke trails behind the back tire on the left. A tall stacked rock wall rises behind the car under a sky with a few wispy clouds and long streaky lines, and lots of rounded stones in front give you plenty to color. Orange or electric blue works well for the car, gray and sandy tan for the boulders, and black wheels will help the car stand out from the rocks. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the desert sky and the large background rocks with light tan, leaving the thin sky clouds at the top white.
- 2Color the hill of rocks behind the car with rust brown and terracotta orange, adding caramel on some stones for variety.
- 3Paint the bottom boulders in light gray and the smaller stones at the lower left in sand beige, keeping the thin gaps between rocks white.
- 4Color the race car body with sky blue on the hood, doors and sides, then add bright red to the spoiler, rear panel and lower side panels.
- 5Fill the wheel hubs, headlights, bumper and side stripes with golden yellow and mustard yellow, and use charcoal gray for the wheel wells and dark trim while keeping the windshield steel blue.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along the bottom edges of the rocks and under the car to make the scene feel more solid.
