How to Train Your Dragon Fun: Boy Feeds a Fish to a Baby Dragon

Coloring guide
A little boy kneels in the grass and holds a fish out to a chubby baby dragon, who looks delighted. He has a round helmet with a big feather, a fur-trimmed tunic with a belt and pendant, and fluffy boots. The baby dragon sits upright with its hands raised and its mouth open in a happy grin. Look for two curved horns, a small wing, spikes down the back and a banded tummy. Tufts of grass and three simple flowers fill the ground below. The large shapes and clear outlines work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Soft green or purple would suit the baby dragon, with orange stripes on its tummy and a shiny orange fish. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the boy's hat dome and hair in chocolate brown, and fill the boy's trousers and boots in chocolate brown too.
- 2Color the boy's coat and skirt in warm tan, then add cream to the fur collar, sleeves, and bottom trims, leaving the edges as light fur.
- 3Fill the boy's face, neck, ears, forehead, and hands with peach skin. Leave the eye whites white.
- 4Paint the baby dragon's body in leaf green, its belly and belly stripes in pale yellow, and its hands in leaf green. Leave the eye shine white.
- 5Color the dragon's horns in sunny yellow, its back spikes in coral orange, and its wings in tangerine orange. Fill the feather with sky blue at the tip and sunny yellow in the middle and top.
- 6Finish the fish in sky blue and pale sky blue, color the grass in leaf green, and keep the flowers and background white. Optional: add a little darker shading in the coat and boots for depth.
