Two smiling kids kneel next to each other in a garden bed and dig in the soil with small hand trowels. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin tone for the faces, arms, hands and knees, leaving the eye whites and the small highlights white.
- 2Color both hats in straw yellow, then add a tomato red band on the boy's hat and a lavender purple band on the girl's hat.
- 3Fill the boy's overalls and shirt in royal blue and the girl's overalls in sky blue, then color the girl's shirt pink.
- 4Color the bushes and leaves in grass green and lime green, and the fence posts in wood tan.
- 5Add the bright yellow watering can, light gray trowels and chocolate brown shoes, then color the flower petals and centers in pink and tomato red.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the overalls and bushes with a deeper shade of the same colors to give the drawing more depth.
