Wheelchair Basketball Players Facing Off Near the Hoop
Coloring guide
Two kids in sports wheelchairs face each other on a basketball court. The boy has short, tousled hair and holds the ball out in front of him with a big smile, while the girl, who has a high ponytail, raises one hand as if she's trying to block his pass. Both wear sleeveless jerseys, shorts, socks and sneakers, and their chairs have large spoked wheels with small front wheels. A backboard and net hang on the wall behind them, and curved court lines run across the floor. Wheel spokes and the net give older kids some detail to color, while the big jerseys and ball are easier for younger children. Matching team colors for both players, like bright blue jerseys, would look sharp, with orange on the ball. It's a free printable PDF for classroom time or a rainy day. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big court areas: color the wood floor in honey tan and the blue court lines and side stripes in sky blue, leaving the court line near the bottom white.
- 2Fill the skin areas like the faces, arms, and legs in warm peach, and use pale peach for the floor edges and lighter shading on the arms.
- 3Color the boy's jersey and shorts in royal blue, and the girl's jersey and shorts in red, then add brown to the boy's and girl's hair and ponytail.
- 4Paint the basketball in orange and the wheelchair wheels, frames, and footrests in light gray, using dark gray and medium gray for the wheel shadows.
- 5Keep the eye whites, the white socks, the white sneakers, the backboard, and the empty background white so the characters stand out.
- 6Optional: Add charcoal gray shadows under the shorts and along the hair edges for a bit of depth.
