Kitten Batting an Ornament Under the Christmas Tree

Coloring guide
Under a fir tree, a fluffy kitten sits upright with one paw stretched up to bat a hanging round ornament. Its big sparkly eyes and open, smiling mouth show pure delight. Three striped baubles dangle from the branches, and a beaded garland swoops across the top of the page. A wrapped present with a big bow sits on each side of the kitten, one striped and the other covered in polka dots. The kitten's curled tail and tufted fur give kids plenty of texture to color. There are both large and small spaces to fill, so it's a good free printable for preschoolers and early elementary kids. An orange tabby pattern looks cute on the kitten, and shiny red and gold ornaments will stand out against the green branches. It's a cozy choice for a holiday classroom table or a quiet afternoon at home. Browse more Christmas Tree coloring pages, or explore Christmas Lights and Santa Claus for even more fun.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big tree branches in forest green, filling the top and sides of the picture while leaving the highlights white.
- 2Color the kitten's body and tail in soft orange, then add bright orange inside the ears and a rust orange touch on the nose and cheeks.
- 3Fill the left and right gift boxes: forest green on the left box and its bow, royal blue with sky blue dots on the right box, and golden yellow for the ribbons and bow on the right.
- 4Color the ornaments: cherry red for the top and right ornaments with golden yellow stripes, and royal blue for the left ornament with its stripes. Make the garland beads golden yellow.
- 5Add the soft pink inside the ears and the near black mouth. Leave the eye whites, the small shine spots on the gift and the white dots on the right box uncolored.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading to the tree and the cat's tail edges to make the drawing feel more dimensional.
