Treasure Cave Adventure with Two Kittens, 44 Cats
Coloring guide
Two little kittens in backpacks and collars tiptoe through a rocky cave, each holding a lantern, while a sleepy bat hangs upside down from the ceiling above. One has a plain fluffy coat and the other has tabby stripes on its face, tail and legs. Open treasure chests overflow with coins, sparkling gemstones, pearl necklaces and crowns, and a closed chest with a lock sits in the lower corner. Pointy stalactites and rough rock walls frame a tunnel in the background, and loose coins and diamonds lie scattered across the cave floor. Warm yellow and orange for the lantern glow, gold on the coins and crowns, and soft purples and blues on the cave walls will make the treasure shine. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cave walls and ceiling: fill the stalactites and rock areas in charcoal gray and taupe, leaving the bat's wings and the tunnel light for later.
- 2Color the stream in sky blue, then fill the chests and the rocky ground in dark brown, rust brown, mocha brown and sand tan.
- 3Paint the orange kitten in tangerine orange, leaving the chest fur, the lantern glow and the bright patch by its paw white, and use soft pink for the inner ears.
- 4Color the gray kitten in light gray, keeping its chest fur white, and add soft pink to its inner ears.
- 5Fill the bat body and the tunnel rocks with charcoal gray and sand tan, then add the gems and gold pieces on the floor in white for shine.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the cave corners and under the chests to make the scene feel deeper.
