Ladybug Resting on a Giant Strawberry
Coloring guide
A smiling ladybug is perched right on top of a plump strawberry in this simple, bold-lined page. She has big round eyes with sparkly highlights, a tiny smile and two curly antennae with round tips. Large circle spots cover her shell, and her stubby legs rest on the berry's leafy green cap. The strawberry has oval seeds all over, and two big veined leaves curl out at the bottom, one on each side. With no background, the page stays clean. Thick outlines and roomy spaces are great for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the seeds give older children something to work on. A bright red shell with black spots looks great on the bug, and a deeper pink-red keeps the berry from blending in. Free to print for a spring or garden afternoon. Love this Strawberry coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: fill the strawberry body and the ladybug's shell with strawberry red.
- 2Fill the top calyx leaves, the two side leaves, and the two bottom leaves with bright green, adding forest green and grass green in the shadowed parts.
- 3Color the ladybug's head cream, and fill the legs and antenna tips with charcoal gray and strawberry red.
- 4Fill the shell spots black, then leave the small eye shines white so the ladybug looks lively.
- 5Add golden yellow seeds all over the strawberry, spacing them evenly.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of strawberry red or forest green near the edges to give the shapes a little depth.
