Seven-Lobed Palmate Leaf With Saw-Toothed Edges

Coloring guide
A single big leaf fills the page, with seven pointed lobes fanning out from one spot where a thick stem begins at the bottom. Every lobe has a toothed, saw-like edge, and a strong center vein runs down each one. Thinner curved side veins branch off these main lines, so the whole leaf looks like it has a delicate net pattern inside. The two upper lobes reach toward the top, two more stretch out to the right, and others point left and down, with two smaller lobes tucked near the stem. The outlines are bold and the spaces are fairly open, which makes it easy to color. Try a fall palette with yellow near the stem fading into orange and red at the tips. It also works well for a science lesson, since kids can trace the main veins with one color and the smaller veins with another. This printable page is a good fit for a nature unit.
