Large Sunflower Head With Seed Pattern and Petals

Large Sunflower Head With Seed Pattern and Petals coloring page

Coloring guide

A single sunflower is drawn facing forward, with a big round center packed with tiny oval seeds that curve in rings and swirl toward a small star-like spot in the middle. Around the center, pointed petals fan out in two or three overlapping layers, some wide and some narrow, with short lines drawn on each one to show where they fold and curve. The outlines are clean and bold, so the petals are easy to see and color. There is no stem, leaves, or background, just the flower on its own. Try coloring the seed center in browns and dark purples, using a lighter shade in the middle ring, then give the front petals bright yellow and the back layer a slightly deeper orange. It also works well for a quick lesson on how sunflowers grow their seeds in spirals. This page is free to print.
