Leaping Buck With Large Antlers and Raised Tail

Leaping Buck With Large Antlers and Raised Tail coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A male deer is caught mid-leap, facing left with all four legs tucked and stretched in the air. He wears a big set of antlers with several long tines on each side, and his ear shows just behind them. The face has a small dark eye, a rounded nose, and a slightly open mouth. His tail is raised high behind him, and the tip is drawn with short, jagged strokes to show fur. Light stippled dots and small lines mark the neck, shoulder, and belly. The large body outline leaves lots of open space, which makes it easy for younger kids to color. Try browns and tans for the coat, then leave the tail tip white or use a soft cream. This free page also works well for a nature lesson, since you can count the antler points together and talk about how deer run and jump.
