Leaping Dolphin Arching Upward With Tail Down

Leaping Dolphin Arching Upward With Tail Down coloring page

Coloring guide

A single dolphin is drawn in a tall, curved pose, with its long beak pointing up toward the top right and its tail fluke at the bottom. The body bends in a smooth arc, as if the dolphin is jumping out of the water. You can see a small eye near the head, a pectoral fin on the underside, and a large dorsal fin on the left side of the back. A thin inner line runs along the length of the body and marks off the belly area, with a small jagged notch partway down. The background is plain white, so there is lots of room to work. Try coloring the back a deeper blue or gray and leaving the belly lighter, then talk with kids about how dolphins are shaded differently on top and underneath. The outlines are clean and the large shapes suit crayons or markers, and the page is free to print.
