Gold Spilling Over: Rainbow & Pot of Gold (St. Patrick's) Leprechaun Hat
Coloring guide
A big leprechaun-style hat takes the middle of the page, piled with shiny gold coins that spill past the brim. A wide band with a large square buckle wraps around it. Three shamrocks sit nearby, one behind the hat at the upper left and two at the lower left and right, and a few loose coins rest on the ground at the bottom. Thick, clean outlines and roomy shapes help little hands stay inside the lines, and the stacked coins give plenty of small areas to practice on. Golden yellow coins, bright green shamrocks, and a black or dark green hat with a metallic gold or orange buckle would look sharp. Free to print for St. Patrick's Day at home or in the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the hat body, the brim, and the three shamrocks with grass green, leaving the small pale shine on the top-left shamrock stem white.
- 2Color the belt on both sides of the buckle and the inside of the buckle square with forest green for a deep, rich band.
- 3Fill the buckle frame and its small tongue, plus the faces of all the gold coins, with golden yellow.
- 4Color the thick edges and sides of the coins with amber orange so they look like they are stacked and spilling.
- 5Add a little leaf green to the small coin patch peeking out at the left side of the hat, then leave the white gaps between coins as sparkle.
- 6Optional: Add a second, darker shade of forest green along the bottom of the hat body and under the brim for a bit of depth.
