Zoo Animals Peeking Around Bubble Letter Z
Coloring guide
Three smiling animals peek around a big bubble letter Z in the middle of this zoo scene. A little monkey hangs from a leafy tree branch above the letter, a baby zebra with a striped mane leans out from the lower left, and a giraffe with a long spotted neck looks over from the right. Inside the Z you'll find wavy lines, flowers, circles and leaves to color. Behind the animals are bushes, a wooden fence, a small gazebo-style roof, and grassy tufts with flowers along the bottom. It's good for letter practice with preschoolers or a Z-themed lesson, and this free printable has both large and small spaces for different skill levels. Try bright orange and yellow on the giraffe's patches, and a mix of purples and pinks for the flowers on the Z. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bubble letter Z: fill it in yellow, leaving the small dots and flower centers white.
- 2Color the wavy bands across the top and bottom of the Z in orange, and add a few burnt orange lines in the middle.
- 3Fill the giraffe head and long neck in amber, then add brown spots along the neck and body.
- 4Color the zebra's muzzle light gray and keep its stripes, eyes and chin white; color the monkey brown with a peach face.
- 5Add the greenery: lime green bushes, leaf green and dark green leaves, forest green grass, and pink flowers on the letter. Optional: add a little extra shading on the bushes with a darker green.
