A tall striped lighthouse stands on a rocky shoreline, with a small cottage tucked beside its base. Arched windows climb the tower toward the lantern room and railed balcony at the top, while four seagulls glide through a sky of puffy, swirling clouds. Out on the water, three sailboats drift over layered waves, a rising sun with long rays sits low on the horizon, and a tree-covered headland rests in the distance. Grassy tufts grow between the boulders up front. There are plenty of small spaces here for patient colorers, so it's a good free printable for a quiet afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky: fill the open sky areas around the lighthouse and the sea with sky blue, leaving the clouds white.
- 2Color the sea with ocean blue, following the wave lines, and add a pale blue patch of light near the lighthouse.
- 3Fill the lighthouse stripes in brick red, leaving the white stripes, the top band and the base white.
- 4Color the rocks at the bottom and on the right in light gray, and add grass green and forest green to the bushes.
- 5Add the golden yellow sun, charcoal gray railing, sandy tan cliff and warm brown wooden door.
- 6Optional: Add a little pale aqua to the lantern glass and a touch of shading on the rocks for depth.
