Lion in the Ring: Wrestling Referee Boy Starts the Count
Coloring guide
A smiling young referee kneels on the canvas with one hand raised, ready to count, while a cheerful cartoon lion lies on his back beside him. The lion grins with both fists in the air and wears wrestling trunks, knee pads, wrist bands and lace-up boots. The referee has tousled hair, a striped shirt and a whistle on a cord. Behind them you'll see the ring ropes, padded corner turnbuckles and a bell hanging from the corner post. Big, clear outlines are a good fit for younger kids, and the lion's fluffy mane and tufted tail add detail for older ones. Golden yellow and orange suit the mane, and red or blue trunks and boots help the lion stand out against the referee's black-and-white stripes. Download it as a free PDF, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the ring floor in sky blue, then the ring ropes: the top rope and ring pads in bright red and the middle ropes and posts in deep blue, leaving the background wall white.
- 2Fill the lion's mane and tail in chestnut brown, and the lion's face, ears and the bell in golden yellow.
- 3Color the lion's shorts, boots, wristbands and thighs in bright red, and its legs, arms and paws in golden yellow or pale yellow, leaving the boot soles white.
- 4Color the boy's face, ears, hand and raised arm in peach skin, his hair in chestnut brown, and his pants and sleeves in charcoal gray, keeping the white shirt stripes and his eye whites white.
- 5Finish with the lion's pink tongue, dark red mouth and light gray whistle. Optional: add a little darker shade to the lion's mane for depth.
