In this winter scene, a small big-eyed creature with two bobble-tipped antennae and pointy ears pats a smiling snowman. The little one wears a fur-trimmed hooded coat with a front pocket, snowflake mittens and chunky boots. The snowman has a carrot nose, a striped fringed scarf and stick arms, and a tiny bird perches on top of its head. Snowy pine trees fill the background, round snowflakes drift down and soft mounds of snow line the ground. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: color the alien's head, ears and legs in lime green, then fill the evergreen trees on both sides with forest green.
- 2Next, use bright red for the alien's coat, pocket, sleeves and mitten, and for the snowman's scarf, leaving the snowman's body white.
- 3Color the alien's hood, collar, coat hem and boot cuffs in cream, and fill the boots with sky blue and their soles with royal blue.
- 4Add the carrot nose in orange, the snowman's stick arm in cream, and the bird's body in bright red with its wing in chocolate brown.
- 5Finish with golden yellow for the two antenna balls and black for the snowman's three buttons, keeping the snow, the eyes and the bird's tail white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along one side of the coat and trees to give them some depth.
