Little Painter Dora the Explorer with Brush and Palette
Coloring guide
Dora is dressed up as a little artist, one paintbrush held high in her raised right hand. Her other arm is tucked at her side, carrying a wide oval palette with three paint blotches and a bundle of extra brushes. She has bowl-cut bangs, wide eyes and an open, happy smile. She wears a horizontally striped long-sleeve shirt with a small neckerchief at the collar, cropped pants and flat boots, with a bracelet on her wrist and a backpack strap showing behind her shoulder. No background, so kids can focus on her. The stripes are a fun challenge: alternate bright pink and white on the shirt, then fill the palette blotches with red, yellow and blue so it looks like real paint. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big skin areas: color the face, hands, and palette peach, leaving the eye shines white.
- 2Fill the hair and the hair fringe with chocolate brown, then color the shirt and sleeves with stripes that alternate between lavender purple and bubblegum pink.
- 3Color the shorts sky blue and the shoes light pink, keeping the socks white.
- 4Add the golden yellow scarf, the warm brown brush handles, and the golden yellow and forest green brush tips, then dab the palette with bright red, sky blue, and forest green paint.
- 5Finish the face details: fill the eyes with chocolate brown and black pupils, keep the little white shines, and color the open mouth dark red.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of chocolate brown along one side of the hair and deeper purple on one side of the shirt stripes to give a little depth.
