Cozy Reading Time With a My Little Pony

Lying on a round puffy cushion, this little pony happily reads a large open book held up in front of her. She has big sparkly eyes, a wavy swoopy mane, a curly tail and a gentle smile, which makes for a calm, cozy scene. A leafy tree branch with falling leaves arches overhead, and grass tufts poke up around the cushion. Next to her are a neat stack of three closed books and a little lantern with a tiny candle inside. The cushion, book pages and leaves are large open shapes that small hands can manage, while the mane and lantern give older kids some detail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cushion: color the bean bag and the tree leaves in sky blue and leaf green, leaving the pony's eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the pony's body, face, ears and legs with butter yellow, and color the hoof behind the book in light brown.
- 3Color the mane, tail and hair with soft pink, then use royal purple for the book covers and spine.
- 4Color the stacked books: brick red on top, royal blue in the middle and leaf green on the bottom, with olive yellow on the bottom book's edge. Leave the book pages cream.
- 5Finish the lantern: golden yellow for the cap and base, pale aqua for the glass, and orange for the flame. Keep the eyes white for a sparkly look.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the pony and cushion to give them a little depth.
