Little Sailboat and Seagulls on a Summer Sea

Coloring guide
A little sailboat rides over wavy water in this simple scene with bold outlines. The tall mast has a round ball on top and a small waving pennant flag, and there's one large triangle sail with a smaller one beside it. The curved wooden hull carries a round porthole that looks a bit like a friendly eye, plus two stripes along the side. Overhead, three seagulls glide through the sky, and a round sun with short rays shines in the top corner. Thick lines and big open shapes make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early learners. Red or yellow sails look great, with blue for the waves and a sunny orange sun for a real summery feel. This fits right in with our Summer coloring pages — see also Fall and Back to School.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- sky blue
- bright red
- golden yellow
- warm brown
- pale blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill both big triangle sails with sky blue, leaving the thin outlines clean.
- 2Color the top rim and the bottom part of the boat hull with bright red, then fill the middle stripe with golden yellow.
- 3Paint the tall mast and its round top knob warm brown, and color the pennant flag bright red.
- 4Color the sun disc and all its rays golden yellow, then fill the three seagulls with pale blue.
- 5Keep the round eye white and the background empty, then finish the eye with a black pupil if you like.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of sky blue along the edge of the sails to give them a little depth.
