Long-Neck Dinosaur Words Scene With Volcano

Coloring guide
In the middle of this prehistoric scene stands a friendly long-necked dinosaur with an open smile and big round eyes. Oval spots cover its body, and its long tail curls up on the right. Behind it, a volcano puffs a big cloud of smoke beside a calm lake, with distant mountains, small clouds and a few palm trees. Leafy ferns and large tropical plants fill the sides and foreground. Bubble-style letters spelling DINOSAUR run across the bottom, and a nest holding two spotted eggs sits in the lower left corner. Big open spaces help little hands, while the fine leaf details give older kids something to chew on. Soft green with orange and purple spots would suit the dinosaur, and warm reds and browns the volcano. It's a free printable. Kids who like Words coloring pages usually enjoy Activity Sheets and Alphabet too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big dinosaur: fill the body, long neck and head with bright green, then use lime green for the head and top of the neck.
- 2Color the belly, the lower neck and the back of the body with soft yellow, leaving the small cloud shapes in the sky white.
- 3Paint the volcano with coral red at the top and chocolate brown on the slopes, then fill the lake with sky blue and the far mountains with teal.
- 4Fill the big letters DINOSAUR with golden yellow, then color the eggs in the nest with cream and the ground patches with tan brown.
- 5Add the plants: use bright green and leaf green for the palm fronds, ferns and bushes, and mint green for the lower foliage. Add orange spots along the neck, body and tail.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading in forest green along the edges of the ferns and bushes to make the plants pop.
