At the center of this mandala is a large open lotus, with layered pointed petals and a ringed middle made of small dots. Rows of smaller petals and scalloped borders with dotted circles build the round pattern behind it. Each corner of the page holds a water lily blossom next to a bud and big veined lily pads, with wavy water lines and tiny bubbles scattered in between. Leaves and teardrop shapes fill the gaps along the edges. All those little sections suit older kids, teens, or adults who enjoy patient, careful coloring. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big lotus petals in light pink, including the outer and side petals, and leave a thin white edge along the lines.
- 2Fill the inner petals around the center with rose pink for a softer contrast.
- 3Color the round center of the flower golden yellow and keep the small dots inside it white.
- 4Add leaf green to the lily pads, lotus leaves and side leaves, then use lime green for the small stems and details.
- 5Use sky blue for the wavy water lines and the blue bands along the sides and bottom, and hot pink for the small bud shapes at the top and bottom.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading in the same colors along one side of each petal for depth.
