Marching Band Parade with Heart Balloons for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Coloring guide
A cheerful drum-and-trumpet parade makes its way down a cobblestone town street. A smiling boy in a plumed band hat leads, beating a big drum with two sticks. Next to him, a girl with a ponytail and a curly-haired child each play a small horn. Two more children in sash-style uniforms follow, smiling and waving, and one of them holds a long flowing ribbon. Three large heart-shaped balloons float above. Cheering adults and kids line both sides of the street, with leafy trees, shop awnings, a lamppost and a clock tower behind them. The big drum is a good spot for bold red with gold trim, and the heart balloons would look lovely in pinks and purples. Print this free page to add to your growing collection. - 2Fill the heart balloons: make the big left heart bright red, the top heart bubblegum pink, the right heart golden yellow and the small heart lavender purple.
- 3Color the marching band uniforms bright red, including the jackets, hats and the drummer's coat, and leave the buttons, the hat plumes and the shoulder trim white.
- 4Add the skin tones with light peach on all faces and hands, then fill the drummer's drum and the trousers navy blue.
- 5Use navy blue for the skirts and the right boy's trousers, and charcoal gray for the shoes and hat bands.
- 6Finish the pavement and background with light gray, and add the golden yellow ponytail and street lamp. Optional: add a little warm brown shading to the drummer's drum for depth.
