Fancy Masquerade Halloween Mask with Feathers, Stars and Swirls

This elegant masquerade mask has three big feathers sweeping up from the right side, with a small round jewel at their base. Two almond-shaped eye openings have little lashes drawn along the top edges. Curly swirl patterns wrap around the eyes, and several five-pointed stars in different sizes are scattered across the surface. Two long ribbons with notched ends hang down from the sides, so it looks ready to tie on. Lines are clean and the shapes are roomy, so it suits kids who enjoy big areas as well as small details. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big purple areas: color the main mask body, the forehead area and the center top using royal purple, and keep both eye openings white.
- 2Fill the two long feathers at the top with emerald green on the left and bright yellow on the right, leaving the middle feather in royal purple.
- 3Color the ribbons hanging from the sides: emerald green for the outer ribbons and royal purple for the lower ribbon ends.
- 4Add the stars in bright yellow, and use warm ochre and tan brown for the little swirls on the sides of the mask.
- 5Finish the details with dusty rose and deep violet on the lower swirls, and use slate gray for the small shapes at the bottom of the mask.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading in darker purple along the edges of the mask to make it look more dimensional.
