A big cube-shaped head sits at the top of the page, drawn at an angle so you can see the top and two sides. Two small square eyes show on the left face, and thin pixel-style patterns are traced across all three visible sides of the head. Underneath, seven long, straight, rectangular tentacles stretch down and outward, with a few angled ends at the bottom and one center tentacle hanging straight down. This looks like the squid from Minecraft. The large open areas on the head are easy to color, so kids can fill them in with solid blues or try a gradient, then use darker shades inside the pixel patterns. For a quick math idea, have children count the tentacles and the visible faces of the cube while they color. It prints well on standard letter paper.
