Tropical Mandala Monkey Walking on All Fours

Tropical Mandala Monkey Walking on All Fours coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A long-limbed monkey walks on all fours across the middle of a circular frame, head lowered and eyes looking ahead. Its tail curls into a tight spiral at the back, and the fur along its back, shoulder and hip is drawn as wavy, feathery strokes. Around the monkey, a round wreath of big split-edged leaves, hibiscus-style flowers with visible centers, small clustered blossoms and thin curling vines fills the border. The monkey itself has large open areas, so it works well for younger kids, while the dense wreath gives older kids and adults plenty of fine detail. Try coloring the monkey in warm browns and keeping the leaves in several greens, then picking two or three flower colors and repeating them around the circle so the border feels balanced. It also makes a good starting point for talking about rainforest animals and plants. Print it as many times as you like.
