Across the page curves a large smiling dolphin, with a smaller baby dolphin snuggled against its side. Both have big round eyes and happy faces. Their bodies arch upward, and the pointed dorsal fins, flippers and tails are drawn with clean, bold lines. Round bubbles of different sizes float on either side, and in the bottom corners wavy seaweed sways next to little rounded rocks. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big dolphin bodies: color both the mama and baby dolphin medium blue, leaving the white highlights and the lower belly areas for later.
- 2Color the dorsal fins and the baby's flipper medium blue too, so the shapes match the body.
- 3Fill the pale belly stripes of both dolphins with pale blue, and leave the mama's eye white and the small shine spots white.
- 4Color the seaweed with dark green for the darker strands and lime green for the lighter ones, then fill the rocks at the bottom with sandy beige.
- 5Add the bubbles with light blue, then finish the page by coloring the remaining background details to match.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the blue bodies with a deeper blue to give the dolphins some depth.
