Mother Horse and Foal Together, a My Little Pony Coloring Page
Coloring guide
A big smiling mare looks down at her little foal in this sweet page. She stands tall behind the baby with a long wavy mane running down her neck and a thick striped tail curling out behind her. Her eyes are big and sparkly with lashes, and her smile is gentle. The foal stands up front with a fluffy tuft of hair on its head, a small swishy tail and wide shiny eyes, looking right out at you. Grass tufts are scattered by their hooves and the rest of the background is blank, so there is plenty of white space. Simple lines and large shapes make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Pick lavender and pink stripes for the mother's mane and tail, then reuse one of those colors on the foal's tuft so they look like family. It's free to print for classroom time or a rainy day. - golden tan
- chocolate brown
- cream
- charcoal gray
- caramel brown
- grass green
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large bodies of both horses, including the mother's neck and the foal's back and face, with golden tan, leaving the mother's face area and eye whites untouched.
- 2Color the mother horse's long flowing tail and mane, plus the darker strands on the foal's neck, with chocolate brown.
- 3Use cream for the foal's fluffy tail, its back leg, and the tufts of mane around its neck.
- 4Color the hooves of both horses with charcoal gray and add grass green to the little grass patches around the hooves.
- 5Add caramel brown to the mother horse's legs and the shadowed area behind the foal.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade along the edges of the bodies and tails, and keep the eye shines and leg highlights white for a sparkly finish.
