Mrs. Jumbo Bending Down to Greet Her Baby
Coloring guide
A big mother elephant stands at the center of the page and bends her long trunk down to a tiny baby elephant at her feet. The little one looks up at her with large ears draped around his body, and her trunk curls gently around his chin. She has a small ruffled cap with a bow on top of her head, a decorated cloth across her back, and a knotted scarf at her neck with a tassel hanging down. The baby wears a small patterned collar. Both have soft, smiling faces and eyelashes drawn on the mother. The large open areas on her body are easy to color, and the baby's ears give younger kids a simple shape to fill in. Try picking two colors for the ruffled cap and the back cloth, then repeat them in the baby's collar so the pair looks matched. It is also a nice page for talking about family and size differences.
