A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big dark areas: fill the long sleeves, outer coat, and lower hems with smoky brown, leaving the white sash fold and sandals uncolored.
- 2Color the long hair strands and the top hair ribbon in smoky brown, and add a few burnt orange streaks along the sleeve edges.
- 3Paint the face, forehead, and hands warm ivory, add peach to the collar, and color the face mask mint green.
- 4Fill the patterned kimono and the pink wrap with soft pink, keeping the thin black star-pattern lines unpainted, and add pale blush to the cloth fold.
- 5Add wine red and tangerine orange to the obi sections and ties, make the eyes rose pink, and keep the white obi knot and sandals white.
- 6Optional: Add a darker smoky brown shadow along the edges of the coat and under the sash for extra depth.
