At the center of this evening scene sits a large striped circus tent, a small pennant flag waving on top. Scalloped trim circles the tent and triangle bunting is strung across the roof. The entrance curtains are pulled back and tied, and a winding path runs straight to the opening, with four little lanterns lined up beside it and grassy tufts and rounded bushes on both sides. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the tent stripes with cherry red and golden yellow, alternating them from top to bottom so the big top looks striped.
- 2Color the scalloped edge along the bottom of the tent with sky blue, adding a few sage green and golden yellow scallops in between.
- 3Fill the grass on both sides with grass green and the winding path with sandy beige, then color the dark tent entrance with navy blue.
- 4Color the flag cherry red, the pennants with orange, sky blue, grass green, teal green and tan, and the stars and lantern tops and bases with golden yellow and sky blue.
- 5Leave the crescent moon, the sky and the small stars white so they stand out against the night.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of a darker shade in the grass and tent stripes for a little depth.
