Nine Candles and a Slice Cut From the Birthday Cake

A two-layer birthday cake sits on a big oval plate with one slice cut out and set slightly apart, so you can see the spotted crumb pattern inside. Nine candles with teardrop flames stand along the top, and each candle has wavy wax lines and a few drips. Scalloped frosting runs around the top edge and the bottom edge, and a wavy frosting ribbon divides the two layers. Little dots, small squares and rounded shapes decorate the sides. This free printable is a nice fit for a birthday party table or a classroom celebration. Try coloring the inside of the slice a different color from the outside, like yellow cake with pink frosting, and give every candle its own color. Kids can also count the candles out loud as they color them.
