Open Book and Rising Sun for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Coloring guide
A large open book at the bottom anchors this free-to-print coloring page, its pages fanned out with several stacked page lines showing along the lower edges. A big round sun rises behind the book, surrounded by seven rounded rays spread like a fan. Three outlined stars sit above the sun, one at the top center and one on each side. Thick, clean lines and big open spaces make it easy for young children, and older kids can add details of their own. For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, try warm yellows and oranges on the sun to stand for hope, bright gold on the stars, and soft cream or light blue on the book pages. It's a nice quiet classroom activity, or a way to start a conversation about learning, dreams, and a brighter future.
