At a round tree-stump table, a big-eyed mother owl lifts a teacup, and she has two guests. A fluffy baby owl sits on a smaller stump on the left holding its own cup, and a bunny with tall ears on the right sips tea as well. The middle of the table holds a flower-decorated teapot, a plate of cookies and two empty saucers. Overhead, a leafy branch carries a string of triangle bunting flags. Daisy-style flowers and tufts of grass fill the bottom corners. Thick outlines and roomy shapes work nicely for crayons or markers, and kids can try a different pattern on each flag. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the tree branch and the big stump with warm brown, and fill the leaves and grass with grass green and leaf green.
- 2Color the bunting pennants by alternating bright red, golden yellow and sky blue, and paint the owl's body feathers warm brown.
- 3Fill the owl's face and the baby owl's head with cream, and color the bunny body and tall ears light gray, leaving the eye shines and cheek highlights white.
- 4Paint the teapot and teacups with baby pink and blush pink, and color the baby owl's shirt sky blue.
- 5Color the table top and stump tops with pale gold, the saucers with rose coral, and the cookies with honey orange, keeping the plate edge white.
- 6Optional: Add orchid pink to the flowers on the right and lavender purple to the small flower on the bottom for a little extra sparkle.
