A big-eyed owl stands on a rocky boulder with one wing raised, holding a small telescope to its eye and gazing at the night sky. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the owl's round belly and face with cream beige, leaving the big eye whites white.
- 2Color the wings, tail and head tufts with caramel brown and chocolate brown, then paint the telescope in royal blue with a pale blue lens.
- 3Paint the distant mountains in slate blue and periwinkle blue, then fill the hills with light green and lime green and the winding river with sky blue.
- 4Color the pine trees in forest green and pine green, and the small bushes and grass tufts in bright green or lime green.
- 5Fill the rocky hill with stone gray and medium gray, color the beak and feet honey yellow, and make the star golden yellow. Optional: add a little darker shading along the owl's belly edges and under the rocks.
