Party Dresses and Backpack Maps: Dora the Explorer Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Two smiling girls stand close together under a sky scattered with stars. Dora is in front with her usual bob haircut and bow, in a long ruffled, tiered skirt and a jacket with wide cuffs, and one hand rests on her chest. Behind her shoulder leans a second girl with long hair, straight bangs and earrings, wearing a flower-print dress. Each of them has a smiling Map poking out of a backpack pocket, so there are extra faces to color. Big eyes and open, happy mouths keep the expressions easy to read. Ruffles and small flowers are nice for crayons or fine markers, and the open areas work well for younger kids. Purple or teal could suit the flower dress, pink the ruffled skirt, and yellow the stars. Print it free for a quiet creative break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the skin areas: color both girls' faces, necks and arms with light peach, leaving the eye whites, eye shine and the white gaps in the clothes uncolored.
- 2Fill the hair of both girls and the hair bangs with dark brown, then color the hair bow in hot pink.
- 3Color the tall girl's dress with bright yellow, adding the collar and hem, and fill the flowers on the dress with mustard gold.
- 4Color the small girl's top and sleeves in rose pink and her skirt layers in soft lilac, then fill the backpack with violet purple.
- 5Color the juice box with pale yellow, its top and cap in sky blue, and add chocolate brown to the irises of the eyes.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading with a deeper shade of the same colors on the hair and dress folds to make the drawing pop.
