Patterned Hot Air Balloon in a Cloudy Sky
Coloring guide
A big hot air balloon floats in the middle of the page, with a woven wicker basket hanging beneath it on four ropes. Tall vertical panels make up the balloon, and two decorative bands circle it. Five outlined stars decorate the upper band, while the lower band has a row of round circles. Scalloped, bunting-style edges sit under each band. Six puffy clouds drift around the balloon, three on each side, which keeps the sky calm and uncluttered. Large shapes and thick, clear lines make this a good pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Red and white stripes on the panels, sunny yellow stars, and blue circles look great together, and the basket suits warm browns. It's a free printable for a quiet afternoon or a lesson on shapes and patterns. If you enjoyed this Balloon page, don't miss our For Girls and For Kids coloring pages.

- 3Color the wide horizontal bands: bright blue for the top band with lemon yellow stars, then bright red scalloped rows and a soft purple band with lemon yellow dots.
- 4Paint the basket with chocolate brown and warm tan in a brick pattern, and color the rope rim around the top in golden yellow and lemon yellow.
- 5Leave the space between the basket ropes white, and color the yellow collar band under the balloon in lemon yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of the same color on the balloon and clouds for a bit of depth.
