Here is a grinning Peashooter from Plants vs. Zombies, standing tall on a long curved stem. Three round peas fly out of its trumpet-shaped mouth. Its eyes are big and bright, and two leaves poke up from the top of its round head. Two more large leaves curve out near the bottom of the stem. A wooden picket fence with little round holes in each post stretches across the back, and grass tufts dot the ground. Lines are clean and shapes are large, which makes it friendly for young children. You could go with a bright green head and stem, lighter green leaves and brown fence boards. Lime green peas and a blue sky behind the fence would round it out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big round head with lime green, leaving the eye whites and the eye shines white.
- 2Fill the two sprout leaves at the top, the two bottom leaves, and the curvy stem with leaf green.
- 3Color the fence pickets with wood tan, the horizontal rails with caramel brown, and the fence edges at both sides with pale tan. Leave the gaps between the pickets white.
- 4Color the nozzle lip with pale lime and the dark opening inside it with dark forest green.
- 5Fill the peas in leaf green, with the one closest to the nozzle in pale lime, and leave the grass and background white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of leaf green on the leaves and head to give them a little depth.
