Pororo Peeking From a Round Submarine Porthole

Under the sea, a little penguin in a knit beanie with a pom-pom looks out of a round submarine porthole. The sub has a bent periscope on top, a propeller at the back, and lots of rivets and small portholes waiting for color. Four striped fish swim past, with one tiny fish floating off to the right. Lower down, a smiling sea turtle and a curly-tailed seahorse glide above wavy seaweed, coral, a spiral shell, a scallop shell and a starfish. Bubbles dot the whole page. A yellow submarine and a red beanie would make the penguin pop against a blue-green sea. Big and small spaces both show up here, so crayons and fine markers each get a turn. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big submarine body: color the round hull, top cap and periscope pipe lemon yellow, and fill the propeller blades slate gray.
- 2Add golden yellow to the rivet band running across the hull and the dots along the top and bottom of the submarine.
- 3Color the thick porthole ring light gray, then fill the window area light blue with sky blue touches. Keep the tiny bubbles in the window white.
- 4Give the penguin a charcoal face and eyes, leave the belly white, add the orange flippers, a red hat stripe, and keep the white pompom on top.
- 5Color the sea life next: the seahorse and the small fish in orange, the left fish stripes in tangerine, the top right fish in sky blue and lavender purple, and the turtle in lime green with a warm brown shell.
- 6Fill the seaweed in grass green and leaf green, the coral in pink and tangerine, and the rocks in light gray, leaving the background and the seaweed highlights white. Optional: add a little darker shading on the shell and rocks to make them pop.
