Penguins Trading a Valentine's Day Gift on the Ice

One penguin holds out a heart-shaped gift box tied with a bow, and the other penguin clasps both flippers together in happy surprise. They stand on a chunky block of ice in rippling water, with small icy peaks in the background on both sides. The penguin on the right has long eyelashes and a bow on her head. Four snowflakes and a few hearts of different sizes drift in the sky above. Shapes are big and outlines are clean, so younger kids can color comfortably, while the waves and snowflakes give older kids some detail to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the penguins' backs, heads, and flippers with charcoal gray, leaving their faces and bellies white.
- 2Color the beaks and both pairs of feet tangerine orange.
- 3Color the big iceberg sides ice blue, and add sky blue on the left edge and the middle-left part of the iceberg. Leave the top of the ice floe white.
- 4Color the hearts and the heart-shaped gift box cherry red, then add golden yellow to the gift ribbon and bow.
- 5Fill the bow in the penguin's head with bubblegum pink, and color the distant icebergs ice blue.
- 6Finish with the snowflakes and background left white, and keep the penguins' eye whites bright. Optional: add a little darker shading on the gray backs to give them depth.
