A cheerful little flower girl walks along while tossing petals from one hand and carrying a woven basket in the other. She wears a flower crown on her wavy hair, a puff-sleeved dress with a wide sash tied in a bow at the back, and little shoes decorated with flowers. The basket is filled with more petals and has a flower and ribbon on the side. Loose petals drift through the air and lie scattered on the ground around her feet. The large shapes of the dress skirt and petals are easy for small hands, while the flower crown and basket weave give older kids some detail to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the girl's dress skirt, bodice, puff sleeves and the back ribbon with sky blue, leaving the white sash and the white bow pieces unpainted.
- 2Fill the face, neck, arms, hands and legs with light peach, keeping the eyes and smile white.
- 3Color the long wavy hair, bangs and side curls with caramel brown, then add the green leaf on the flower crown in leaf green.
- 4Paint the basket and its weave with caramel brown and sandy tan, and add the fruit inside with lavender purple and warm gray.
- 5Fill the shoes with royal blue and color the flowers on the crown and the basket bow with coral pink and lavender purple, keeping the flower centers white.
- 6Finish by coloring all the falling petals on the ground and in the air with coral pink, and leave the background white. Optional: add a little darker shading under the skirt and hair for depth.
