Picnic Day for a Baby Boy and His Puppy
Coloring guide
A smiling little boy in a short-sleeved shirt and overalls sits on a checkered picnic blanket, and his fluffy puppy sits right beside him. One of his hands rests gently on the puppy, who sits upright with its mouth open and tongue out, wearing a collar with a round tag. The boy's chunky boots stick out in front. Around the blanket you'll spot daisy-style flowers, tufts of grass, rounded bushes in the background, and a flower-decorated watering can in the bottom corner. Bold clean outlines and large open shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Red and white would make a classic picnic blanket, with yellow centers and pink petals on the flowers. Download it as a free PDF for an easy afternoon activity. This page is part of our Baby coloring pages collection — check out Cookie and Diversity & Inclusion too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the picnic blanket and the grass: color the big pink checkered blanket in salmon pink and the bushes and grass in grass green, leaving the little white squares on the blanket blank.
- 2Fill the puppy with golden yellow, including its body, ears, tail and legs, then add caramel brown on the cheek for a little shading.
- 3Color the boy's skin in peach and his hair in chestnut brown, keeping the eye highlights white so the eyes sparkle.
- 4Paint the boy's overalls bright blue and his shirt tomato red, then add the blue watering can with its spout and handle.
- 5Add the flowers: make the petals white, the centers bright yellow, and the leaves lime green or forest green, then finish with the puppy's gold dog tag and bib buttons in bright yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a light blue touch to the boy's shoes and the shoe stripes for a soft highlight.
