Pirate Captain I Spy Deck with Parrot and Treasure

On a ship's deck stands a cheerful bearded pirate captain, one hand on his hip and the other resting on a big treasure chest. He wears a skull-and-crossbones hat, a bandana, an earring, a long coat with a sash, a belt and tall boots, with a sword at his side. A little parrot in a bandana perches on a barrel beside the ship's wheel. On the planks around them you can spot an anchor wrapped in rope, a hanging lantern, rigging, a treasure map, a spyglass, a coiled rope, a starfish and a seashell. Past the rail, the sea stretches to a small island with palm trees, and seagulls fly overhead. Kids who love hunting for tiny details will like it, and the free printable PDF is easy to grab. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky in sky blue, covering the background around the clouds, island and rigging, but leave the white cloud at the top middle white.
- 2Fill the sea in ocean blue, then color the jacket and coat in navy blue, including the sleeves and coat tail.
- 3Color the treasure chest and the wooden mast, railing and deck in wood brown, and the anchor, spyglass base and rope in steel gray where it fits.
- 4Paint the skin, shirt, and parrot details: peach for the face and hands, dark brown for the boots, and golden yellow for the parrot and chest trim and lock.
- 5Add the red bandana and hat band in bright red, the pants in brick red, and the sash and belt in peach and wood brown.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the hat, along the chest lid and in the sea waves to make the scene feel deeper.
