This wide-eyed fox cub bounds across a pile of fallen maple leaves, mouth open in a happy grin and its big fluffy tail curled up behind. The tail has a zigzag pattern near the tip, which is fun to color. More leaves drift through the air around the cub, with a tall tree trunk with scalloped branches and a few small bushes in the background. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the fox's body, head, tail and legs in bright orange, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the tail tip, chest and the bottom of the fox's face with cream, and color the inner parts of both ears and the tongue in coral pink.
- 3Color the big leaves at the bottom and the leaves around the fox's sides in bright orange, pumpkin orange and rust orange for a warm autumn mix.
- 4Paint the scattered leaves in the air and on the ground with sunny yellow, golden amber, tomato red and vermilion.
- 5Color the tree trunk and canopy, the bushes and the small leaves in grass green, forest green and lime green, keeping the tiny gap of sky near the tree white.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a darker shade of each color on the shadowed sides of the leaves and the fox to make them pop.
