Toothy Grinning Cub Reaching for a Butterfly, The Lion King

A young lion cub sits on its bottom with its head tilted to one side and a wide, toothy grin. One front paw reaches out toward a small butterfly hovering at the left of the page, while the other paw is raised near the cub's cheek. The cub has round ears, a small tuft of hair on top of its head, big expressive eyes and a short tail with a fluffy tip curling at the bottom left. The butterfly has patterned wings with an oval shape in the middle and a long, segmented body with two antennae. The outlines are thick and clean, which makes this a good fit for crayons and markers, including younger kids. Try warm golden tans for the cub, then pick a bright contrasting color for the butterfly wings so it stands out. You could also ask children to make up what the cub is thinking.
