Mid-waltz, a prince and princess glide across the ballroom floor, gazing into each other's eyes. She wears a tiara, a necklace, and an off-the-shoulder gown with a ruffled skirt and two little bows at the hips, with her long wavy hair flowing behind her. He's dressed in a military-style jacket with fringed epaulettes and a decorative badge on the chest. Two more couples in ball gowns and formal suits dance near the edges of the room. A big candle chandelier with dangling crystals hangs above, and tall arched windows, wall candle sconces and draped curtains frame the scene. The floor has a patterned tile design. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big ballgown with sky blue, including the wide skirt, the ruffles and the bows, and leave the highlights on the folds unpainted for a soft glow.
- 2Color the prince's sash and sleeve cuffs with royal blue, and the strands of the princess's hair and her tiara with bright yellow.
- 3Paint the curtains on both sides of the room, along with their tassels, in crimson red, and color the prince's hair with chestnut brown.
- 4Use light peach for the faces, hands, necklace and the dance floor, then add pale gold and warm gold to the marble floor patterns and the pillars.
- 5Fill the background dancers' gowns with rose pink on the left and lavender purple on the right, and keep the prince's white jacket, epaulettes and the background coat white.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker sky blue along the shadowed folds of the gown for a little depth.
